Blind Man

from The Journey So Far by Tom Ash

/

lyrics

Blind man walks with his hands on his feet,
Gets strange looks from the folk in the street,
He's begging for change, but nobody cares.

A pregnant teenage mother of three,
She's on her iPhone while the kids shout and scream,
And caught in the smoke of her e-cigarette.

A girl from the office, she's out on the town,
Dressed in her best, painted up like a clown,
Maybe she'll meet her husband this year?

And a drunken reveller is knocked to the floor,
Covered in blood, but he'll come back for more,
The bouncer's request was perfectly clear.

The world carries on whether you like it or not,
There's no use trying to change what cannot be changed,
In time you will find that we're all just as blind,
In truth all the same, one and the same,
We're one and the same.

A sharply dressed man rushes past at the station,
By the look on his face, clearly needs a vacation,
He's knows time is money, but he's already late.

In the old market square stands a proud honoured veteran,
He fought for his country, but received no attention,
For the country he loved has now all but changed.

The world carries on whether you like it or not,
There's no use trying to change what cannot be changed,
In time you will find that we're all just as blind,
In truth all the same, one and the same,
We're one and the same.

Blind man walks with his hands on his feet,
Gets strange looks from the folk in the street,
He's begging for change, but nobody cares.
